JOÃO MORTÁGUAJoão Mortágua is a saxophonist, composer and improviser based in Coimbra, Portugal. He has released six albums of his own original music.
Mortágua records a lot and plays regularly live with some of the finest portuguese musicians. He’s been recently working on his new quartet, his collaborative duos and trios, and his solo project named HOLI. In 2017, was awarded Jazz Musician of the Year by the national television. His album "Dentro da Janela" won the Best 2019 Jazz Album category at Portuguese Music Play Awards. Also in 2019, he played with one of his groups in four international jazz festivals. Recently, he released "Math Trio" debut album at Roda Music. Links |
